Victor Soos's Maverick
This is Victor Soos's 3 year Maverick project. I have no idea if it's a genuine Shelby Maverick, since he never responded when I asked. Click on the image above to see more pictures of this beauty!

James Tackett's Maverick
This 1970 Maverick Grabber belongs to James Tackett. At the moment it has a 302ci 4BBL on it, a stock frame that hasn't been cut, and he's putting it into 5 lugs from the 4, along with a bigger engine soon. Click the picture for more views!

Ben's CometBen's Comet
Submitted by Ben, he bought this car from a millionaire who had no cares about sinking 1000's of dollars into it, restoring it like the one he had as a teen. It's a 1971 Comet GT 302, originally a 3 speed but converted to a C-4. Plans are for a 408w stroker.

Cathy's Maverick
This Maverick was sent in by Cathy. She bought it for $300.00 in 1995 and has been slowly putting it back together. its a 1975 maverick 2 door 250 straight 6 with 73,000 original miles, she is the third owner. She has replaced the doors and front fenders due to rust, and removed the vinyl top and gave it a new paint job.

Craig
This was submitted by Craig. He writes: "This is my money pit. It started it's life as a LDO (Luxory Decor Option), blue ext. with a blue halo top. I managed to save her from the side of my babysitter's house three years ago. Originally a 250 6-cylinder a/t. Now an '89 5.0 H/O with C4 tranny that came in it. (250 and 302 have same bell housing) and retained the power steering. Rear-end is an 8.8 from an 85 'stang. This car isn't really fast, just fun. Still a work in progress but nearly complete. By the way, I love these cars because I grew up in them. My parents had several of them." Thanks, Craig!

John Ford
This Maverick was submitted by John Ford. It's a '70, with a 347 c.i. motor, with a Ford 9 inch, C4 Transmission, coil-over, ladder bars. It does 10.45@126 in the 1/4, and 6.55@1-5 in the 1/8. (Click on the pic for a larger image.)

Steve Auletto
Steve Auletto from Clearwater, FL sent along his '72 Maverick. It has a 302 with headers, Edelbrock intake, Holley 750, 4.11 Richmond gears with a mini-spool, and C4 tranny with shift kit. He's working on rebuilding two 460's to out in the car, along with a straight axle setup. Click on the pic for other, larger pics!

Rob Lutz
Rob Lutz of Chilliwack, B.C., Canada, sends us his Comet GT (OK, not a Maverick, but close enough!). He's had the car for 15 years, buying it off of it's original owner for $800. It's all original except for some modifications to the factory 302 (Holley 4bbl and headers). The paint is pretty much all original as well, as are those aluminum wheels. Rob is also wanting to know if anyone out there has an original tower for one of his wheels with a Mercury emblem on it, as all he can find are the Maverick ones. Drop him a line! He has a set of the Maverick ones for sale if anyone's interested. (click on the pic for a larger, more detailed version.)

Carlos Carlos

These Mavericks come to us from Carlos, from Brazil. Carlos and his father both have a Maverick, both with 302 V8 engines. The red one belongs to Carlos, and has a 5 speed transmission pulled from a 95 Mustang, all wheel disk brakes, power windows, power door locks, keyless alarm system, stereo, tinted windows, and leather seats. The white one belongs to his dad, and is all original with the exception of the wheels. Click on the pictures to see a few more shots of these beauties. Nice!
